Amongst the monks

"I never met a goat I didn't feel immediately attracted to "
-Socrates

Following a hearty breakfast of 2 raw goats we prepare ourselves for our first walk on Amorgos.
We start off in the village of Chora

and first stop is at a monastery

inhabited by an ancient cult of Amorgician goats worshipping monks. The building is guarded by ever vigilant, fierce warrior monks

and only by donning goat skins and smearing ourselves with a goat faeces do we manage to gain admission. The monastery is adorned with ancient mystical symbols which can only be understood by highest order of monks.

We continue with our walk feeling somewhat spiritually enlightened, each of us glowing with a spiritual aura and an accompanying stench of goat poo, better known as osmogenesia, the odour of sanctity.
With all this holiness the rest of the walk(?my life?) is a bit of an anticlimax.
