36 Hours in the steel tube

If "getting there is half the fun" is true this is going to be a pretty ordinary kind of holiday. We meet up with our travelling companions and after being probed by security we settle into the Air NZ lounge which is pretty well deserted. We are eventually called and take the 3km walk to the furthest away boarding area and plonk into our seats. The so called latest release movies are so dated that I believe the others were probably released before the talkie era!
We arrive in Bangers and after a brief respite we walk the 3.5km trail to our Luftwaffehansa plane-apparently they have upgraded their fleet recently but this one has missed out-this explains my seat number as being "rear gunner?" With the aid of powerful pharmacological agents the trip is borderline tolerable.
The next stop is the aptly named Munchen where we sup on fine German sausages, cheese and bread(2nd breakfast) and then onto the 3rd leg to Athens and our 3rd breakfast of the day(?)-I could get used to the triple breakfast protocol.
Surprisingly our luggage turns up and we are efficiently whisked away to our digs where we are met by our genial host ,Con, who spends 5 minutes describing what we should do in Athens and 45 minutes describing the efficient deadlock on the front door.
We then wander the local area and find a Cafe willing to tolerate us and discover the joys of the local cuisine and ouzo followed by a visit to the supermarket, back home, drinkies and bed.
