Aving a good time in Avignon

Today we visit the sites of Avignon, but first a little history lesson.

It turns out back in the 14th century there were 2 popes(as if 1 wasn't enough) and popes number 2, known by the Romans as the "Loser Popes" lived in Avignon, where surprise, surprise, they accumulated great wealth and power and built Luxury palaces to live in.

So we are off to visit the Pope's Palace, which is real old and full of real old stuff.

All the Avignon popes were keen gardeners

The most famous cross dressing pope, Merlus Thumpickerus 14

We then visit the city market to stock up on bare essentials and then enjoy a modest lunch
Snails cooked in defender sauce

I ordered my burger rare

We are then caught in a torrential downpour and arrive home saoked to the proverbial
